Donald Trump Promises to ‘Heal America’ Following Victory in U.S. Presidential Election

As he spoke to his ecstatic fans in Florida, Donald Trump announced that he had won the US election.

He said to crowds in West Palm Beach just hours before he was officially declared the 2024 election winner: “Look what happened – is this crazy?” – adding: “I would like to express my gratitude to the American people for the incredible honor of electing me as your 47th president.

“I will fight for you, your family, and your future. Every single day, I will fight for you with every breath in my body.”

He declared to the audience that it was a “magnificent victory for the American people” and that he had also won the popular vote, which he had not been able to do in his presidential campaigns in 2016 and 2020.

After what was expected to be a close contest, Mr. Trump has now been formally declared the victor of the election, defeating Democratic challenger Kamala Harris.

With his election, the Republican becomes the first presidential candidate to be elected president who has a criminal record.

“Winning the popular vote was very nice, it’s a great feeling of love,” he remarked in his closing remarks.

“This will truly be the golden age of America,” the 78-year-old also declared to his fans.

Georgia, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Wisconsin are crucial battleground states that Mr. Trump has won and is ahead in.

After defeating Hillary Clinton in 2016, Mr. Trump was running for a second term in the White House.

The Senate has been confirmed to be won by the Republican Party, but the House is still up for grabs.

Mr. Trump remarked, “We overcame obstacles that no one thought possible,” while his “amazing” children and “my beautiful wife Melania” stood by him.

He reiterated his pledge to crack down on illegal immigration throughout his remarks. “We’re going to help our country heal, we have a country that needs help and it needs help very badly,” he added.

At a rally in Pennsylvania back in July, Mr. Trump stated, “Many people have told me that God has spared my life for a reason and that reason was to save our country and to restore America to greatness and now we are going to fulfill that mission together.” This seemed to be a reference to an attempted assassination on him.

According to her campaign chair, Ms. Harris will now wait until later on Wednesday to speak to her supporters.

After the polls closed, the vice president was supposed to speak at Howard University, her alma mater, but as the results started to come in, the atmosphere darkened.

“We will continue overnight to fight to make sure, every vote is counted, and every voice has spoken,” Cedric Richmond, co-chair of the Harris campaign, told the university audiences.

Therefore, the vice president will speak to you tomorrow but not now. Tomorrow, she’ll be back here.
