“Equatorial Guinea Official’s Viral Video Sparks Major Political and Public Reaction: What Happened Next?”

May be an image of 1 personTeodoro Mangue, the vice president of Equatorial Guinea, has pledged to take “severe measures” against officials who have sex for their positions following the release of “sex tapes” that went viral and purportedly involved a high-ranking government servant and the wives of several well-known people.

The vice president took to the X page on Monday and declared, “Today, we will proceed with the immediate suspension of all officials who engage in sexual relations in the offices of the Country  ministries.”

Mangue states that the government will take strong action against these behaviors since they violate the public ethics law and the code of conduct.

Following the reported arrest of Baltasar Engonga, the director general of the National Financial Investigation Agency, on unrelated graft charges, the “sex tapes” went viral on social media, prompting Mangue to order regulators and internet service providers to stop the videos’ distribution.

The Attorney General stated that although the recordings were made voluntarily, Engonga may be prosecuted for “public health crimes” if contracted an infection from a sexual partner.

“This action is a decisive step in our policy of zero tolerance for behaviour which  undermines the  integrity of the public service.”

“Our administration is built on ethics and respect, and we will not tolerate careless behavior that undermines public confidence.

“Responsibility and professionalism must be the pillars of our work as public servants.”

In the interim, Vice President  forbids government officials from having sex while holding their positions, saying that they should concentrate on their work to build their country.

Teodoro Mangue clarifies that there are already laws against anyone who has sex with an official, and they will censure the official and fire me from my position.

“Taking into account di abuse wey dey show on Equatorial Guinea social networks in recent days and, remembering dat di ministries dey solely and exclusively to perform administrative work for di development of di kontri, e dey forbidden to engage in sexual relations in di offices,” He stated.

“The control mechanisms are  already in place and any person  who  breaches this  rule again will be subjected to disciplinary proceedings for misconduct and dismiss from their  job.”

Mr  Mangu said that they would start installing cameras in all state officials’ offices, but urged them to follow the law and refrain from illegal activity.

He further states that anyone caught having sex for work will suffer repercussions.

“The government will shortly install security cameras in every state agency’s office.

“We will make these provisions to make sure officials follow the law and to stop rude and illegal behavior.

“We will not  admit any misconduct which will denigrate the  integrity of our administration and people who   engage in such practices will face drastic measures.”
