The most recent Afrobarometer Report has shown that 85% of Ghanaians are in favor of maintaining the Free Senior High School (SHS) program.
The report highlights that 80% of Ghanaians want the e-levy abolished, while 82% have experienced some level of poverty. Additionally, unemployment is identified as a major concern, and many Ghanaians face challenges in accessing basic services. These findings reflect significant economic issues affecting the population.
The Centre for Democratic Development (CDD) report reveals that 82% of Ghanaians believe the country is heading in the wrong direction, a slight decrease from 87% in 2023. Titled “Citizens’ Policy Priorities, Economic Conditions, and Government Performance: Highlights from Afrobarometer Round 10 Survey in Ghana,” the 2024 report indicates that only 15% think Ghana is on the right track.
The findings, shared in Accra on October 31, also show that 85% of Ghanaians want the Free Senior High School (FSHS) program maintained, 80% wish to see the e-levy canceled, and 82% have faced some level of poverty. Additionally, unemployment is a major concern, and many struggle to access basic services.
