Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), and the vice president of Ghana emphasized that the police have been well-equipped with the necessary tools to perform their duties effectively in the upcoming elections.
He highlighted the government’s efforts to enhance law enforcement capabilities, aiming to ensure a secure and peaceful electoral environment. Bawumia’s statements reflect a focus on maintaining order and supporting the democratic process during the upcoming elections.
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia stated the government’s significant investments in police infrastructure and resources, including the provision of 630 new housing units in Accra, 720 new vehicles, 5,150 motorbikes, and the establishment of two new Regional Police Headquarters. Additionally, he mentioned the construction of four ultra-modern police stations and the creation of eight new police regions, increasing the total to 25. These measures aim to enhance the capacity and effectiveness of the police force.
“As we head into the December 7 polls I am confident that as they have done in the past, the Ghana Police will display their customary professionalism ” he added
In a Facebook post, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia congratulated the newly commissioned senior police officers following the 53rd Graduation Ceremony of the National Police Academy and Training School in Tesano, Accra, on October 30. He encouraged them to make Ghana proud in their new roles, highlighting the importance of their service to the nation.
