The Ghana Black Stars’ hopes of qualifying for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morroco were severely damaged when Sudan humiliated them. In a game played on October 15, 2024, at Martyrs Stadium. Sudan took advantage of Ghana’s errors in defense and their inability to execute their offensive plays with accuracy. Even though Ghana was favored to win the match, Sudan outperformed the Black Stars and capitalized on their opportunities to win the game.
Ghana’s attack t was frustrated and left without a goal as they were unable to penetrate Sudan’s unwavering defense. However, Sudan showed tactical discipline and took advantage of their scoring opportunities in the second half as Ahmed Al-Tash found the opening goal in the 62nd minute. Mohamed Abdelrahman also did put the icing on the cake as he found the back of the net in just three minutes after they broke the deadlock dealing a serious setback to Ghana’s efforts to qualify. The Black Stars now have an uphill to climb to qualify for AFCON 2025 after this setback.
