Ghanaian actress Fella Makafui has been featured in the second season of the popular Nigerian Netflix series “Anikulapo.” She will play a main character role in the movie which will be available on Netflix to show in over 191 countries. In June of this year, Nigerian movie producer Kunle Afolayan revealed that Season 2 of the award-winning Nigerian movie will be filmed in Ghana. Juliet Asante, the Chief Executive Officer of the National Film Authority (NFA), announced Fella’s role in the movie in a post on Monday, October 7. The actress looked like she was in the movie.
This is a component of Ghana’s goal to work with other African nations in order to provide opportunities for Ghanaian talent to compete internationally.
Under the NFA’s #ShootInGhana initiative, Netflix has approved the Kunle Afolayan-directed series, which will be viewed in more than 191 countries and establish Ghana as a developing location for film production.
Asante conveyed her appreciation for Kunle Afolayan’s willingness to work with her on this project as well as the support provided by the Ministry of Tourism, the Ghana Tourism Authority, and the Ghana Museums & Monuments Board.
She praised Fella Makafui for her diligence and devotion, especially her will to become fluent in Yoruba in order to fulfill her position.
In honor of the occasion, Fella Makafui announced on Instagram that she would be playing Abena in the upcoming second season of Anikulapo, a program that delves into pre-colonial life.
