TYLA WINS BEST NEW ARTIST OF THE YEAR AT BET AWARDS 2024

South African music star Tyla showed up at the 2024 BET Awards picking up two (2) major awards including Best International Act and Best New Artist.

Tyla beat 9 other contenders in the Best International Act category at the 2024 BET Awards .

Tyla was the first person to be named winner  at Sunday’s BET Awards 2024 held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles in the category for Best International Act.

The “Water” hit maker beat stiff competition from others including Asake (Africa Nigeria ), Aya Nakamura (France), Ayra Starr (Africa Nigeria), Bk’ (Brazil), Cleo Sol (United Kingdom), Focalistic (Africa), Karol Conká (Brazil), and two other artist form France and the United Kingdom.

Tyla was also adjudged the Best New Artist beating 41, 4batz, Ayra Starr, Bossman, Dlow, Fridayy, October London and Sexyy Red.

Picking up the award, Tyla expressed her gratitude for Sexyy Red and dedicated the award to Africa.

“Firstly, I love Sexxy Red, oh my gosh, I can’t. I love her so much. This is such a gift to be here. I want to dedicate this one to Africa. I want to dedicate this one to all the African superstars before me that didn’t get these opportunities that I’m getting. It’s just amazing. Africa to the World wide.”
