The BET awards night was Established in 2001, the awards celebrate black achievers in music, film, sports, and philanthropy. A Grammy winning artist, Tyla, who is looking at three trophies at the 2024 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards next month, will join performers Ms Lauryn Hill, YG Marley and Ice Spice as well as previously announced acts GloRilla, Latto, Muni Long, Sexyy Red and Shaboozey.
The ‘Water’ hit maker, Africa’s most nominated artist this year, will be looking to take home the Best Female R&B/Pop Artist, Best New Artist, Viewer’s Choice and Best International Act awards.
Other African nominees at the 2024 BET’s include Nigeria’s Burna Boy, Tems, Ayra Starr, Asake and Seyi Vibez as well as South Africa’s Tyler ICU, Focalistic and Makhadzi.
Actress Taraji returns as MC for a third time, and R&B vet Usher will be honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award.

We look forward to creating an amazing lineups to pay tribute to our global.
while, Drake leads this year’s list of nominees with seven nods, including for Album of the Year. Nicki Minaj earned six nominations.
