A police dispatch rider was killed in an accident while guarding the Tamale convoy of dancehall superstar Shatta Wale.
Shatta Wale is now on a promotional tour for an alcohol brand in the Upper East Region.
However, the policeman, who is reportedly in his early 30s, died in an accident that occurred in his convoy before him arriving in the area.
While the musician’s caravan was going to Bolgatanga for an alcohol-related promotional event, an incident occurred on the Tamale-Bolgatanga Highway.
The deceased officer was apparently leading the convoy when he was involved in an automobile collision on the highway with another rider, who was a motorcycle rider for former President John Kufour.
The teenage rider was killed in the collision; authorities have not yet formally revealed his identity.
Witnesses describe a terrifying event in which the officer’s motorbike crashed and he was thrown from it.
