It’s safe to say Harry Kane is having an enjoyable experience in Germany.
The England captain moved from hometown club Tottenham to Bayern Munich in August and hasn’t looked back since.
After scoring twice against Heidenheim on Saturday, the striker has now scored 17 league goals this season. After 11 Bundesliga games, no player has scored more than Bayern Munich’s former talisman Robert Lewandowski, who held the previous record of 16.
Kane, the league’s highest scorer, has four goals in the Champions League, where Bundesliga leaders Bayern have yet to drop a point in the group stage.
“It is impressive,” Bayern Munich’s sports director Christoph Freund said following Kane’s double in the team’s 4-2 win over Heidenheim, according to Reuters.
“He’s playing away from the United Kingdom for the first time, and he scores like that.” The squad also uses him to get him into position. He’s a one-of-a-kind.”
Kane, the Premier League’s second all-time leading scorer, was already regarded as a world-class talent before moving from England to Germany, but it was unclear whether he would be able to replicate his form at Tottenham.
The 30-year-old has emphatically answered that question, tearing up the record books in the process.
Kane has scored more goals than last season’s Bundesliga top scorer, and his goal-scoring prowess has left an impression on his new teammates.
‘He is capable of doing anything.’
“I believe he can do anything,” remarked Bayern Munich veteran forward Thomas Mueller, according to Reuters.
“All we have to do now is get him into position.” If he gets a shot anywhere near or inside the box, the ball will almost certainly go in.”
Kane will travel to England later this week for two international matches against Malta and North Macedonia before returning to Germany.
Despite his record-breaking achievements, Kane has yet to win a major trophy in his career, but he appears motivated to change that this season.
“Of course, the team deserves all of the credit,” Kane added, maintaining modest about his accomplishments.
“They give me the opportunities.” “I enjoy being a part of this team.”
