Inaki Williams of Athletic Club is about to make his tenth appearance for the Black Stars. Williams has now gone nine games without scoring, but he hasn’t wavered in his dedication to Ghana or his desire to end his goalless streak.
In May 2022, the former international for Spain made his debut for Ghana. Since then, the Black Stars have been a challenging and rewarding part of his life.
Williams is steadfast in his pursuit of scoring Ghana’s first goal despite the dry spell.
Williams expressed his desire to help the squad succeed before the international friendly match against Mexico in Charlotte, adding, “For me, it’s a really significant match. I believe the Ghanaian people are on our side, and I will try my hardest to get my first goal in this game.
“I don’t have a lot of matches with my teammates, so it hasn’t been easy for me, but that is football. I will exert every effort to score my first goal since I adore playing football and watching the games.
“Mexico has talented athletes and highly diligent individuals. Although Ghana has extremely good players, this match won’t be simple, and we’ll battle to win, he continued.
On Saturday, October 14, 2023, the friendly match between Ghana and Mexico is slated to begin at 9 p.m. (1 a.m. Ghana Time) at Charlotte, North Carolina’s Bank of America Stadium.
At GEODIS Park in Nashville, Tennessee, on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, the Black Stars will also take on the Americans.
