Kurt Okraku has been congratulated by FIFA President Gianni Infantino on being re-elected as the head of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

On Thursday, October 5, 2023, Tamale hosted the Elective Congress. Okraku, who faced no opposition, easily won. He received a resounding 117 of the total 120 votes cast.

President Infantino sent President Okraku and the newly elected members of the GFA Executive Council his warmest welcomes and best wishes in a letter dated Monday, October 9, 2023. He highlighted the significance of their efforts to the growth of the sport and the promotion of its principles in the nation and stated his readiness to work with them to further the growth and prosperity of football in Ghana.

“Dear President,” began the letter from President Infantino. Sincere wishes and congrats on your recent reelection as the Ghana Football Association’s (GFA) president. Please accept. While I take this chance to thank you for all of your efforts, work, and significant contribution to the growth of our sport and the promotion of its values in Ghana, I would be grateful if you could please convey my congratulations to the Members of the Executive Council elected with you. Dear President, I look forward to continuing to work with you for the development and prosperity of football in Ghana in the future. I send you and your staff my best wishes for this new mandate and every success for all the challenges that lie ahead.

On Monday, Okraku and the newly formed Executive Council met for the first time.
