In a recent interview on Berla Mundi’s Day Show, Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram Sam Nartey George sharply criticized Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, branding him a “chew-and-pour economist.”
George said that Bawumia lacks a thorough understanding of Ghana’s actual economic dynamics and primarily relies on economic theories and rote learning.
He emphasized, “Individuals like Bawumia don’t grasp that our economy isn’t solely textbook-based; all they do is chew and pour. Bawumia is a chew-and-pour economist.”
Without exhibiting a practical understanding of Ghana’s economic difficulties, George charged the Vice President with rehearsing abstract economic theories.
George stressed the necessity for a more practical and hands-on approach to economic management while expressing his displeasure with Bawumia’s leadership of the Economic Management Team.
He said, “When you’re going in circles, you might think you’re making progress, but ultimately, you come back to the same point.”
Additionally, George asserted that the current administration is retrogressing the economic progress made under former President John Dramani Mahama’s administration.
