A candidate for the New Patriotic Party’s flagbearer position, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, has accused the NPP with robbery of public funds.
The current administration, according to the MP for Assin Central, is stealing money intended for Ghanaians and stashing it away in tax-free zones.
The outspoken politician remarked in a video clip that has been making the rounds on social media that the scale of the theft is so alarming and that the stolen money is being hidden abroad.
“You will believe there is no future given the manner the NPP is pillaging this nation. In a video clip that has been widely shared on social media, he is heard saying, “You steal all this money and stash same abroad, what do you mean?
The youth of this country are not working yet you are intimidating people. I will put my life on the line and defend them,” he emphasize .
Kennedy Agyapong has declared that if Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is chosen as the flagbearer, the NPP will enter opposition.
The Vice President, according to him, cannot defeat John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), as the party’s leaders are aware of.
On September 24, 2023, he voiced his concerns about internal politics that frequently resulted in violence rising during an interview with Kings Radio, a US-based station.
He bemoaned the rising trend of violence during party elections, pointing out that some NPP members get more aggressive during these competitions.
Seven Ashanti Regional MPs, according to the member of parliament for Assin Central, were allegedly promised the vice presidential position by Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, another candidate for the position of flagbearer.
If Bawumia were to become the party’s flag bearer, the NPP would probably face opposition. He stressed his intention to oppose any moves that would force the NPP into opposition as he maintained that the party should steer clear of such a scenario.
