On Saturday, September 23, demonstrators took to the streets of Accra for the demonstration’s third and final day.
In order to drive home their demands for, among other things, lower living expenses, an end to corruption, and better governance, the demonstrators marched towards the Jubilee House.
The demonstrators, who were all dressed in black, could be seen yelling songs and yelling against the government while holding signs that read, among other things, “Our Leaders Aren’t Patriotic,” “No More Suffering,” and “Thieves in Suite.”
The Jubilee House access route is currently blocked by barriers installed by the Ghana Police Service.
This comes after the initial detention of close to 50 protestors on Thursday, the first day of the demonstration, for unlawful assembly and a violation of a court order stopping the demonstration.
However, on Friday, after being charged, the demonstrators who claimed to have been handled roughly by the police were released.
Here are some images and videos from the protest on Saturday.
